Jay Evans
Position: Staff, Coach
Bio: ”Coach Jay” is a Tampa Native who has 10+ years of experience coaching racquet sports of all levels. He attended Robinson HS where he became the first ever college tennis Signee, playing 4 years at Piedmont College (Ga). After achieving a top 5 ranking in Florida Men’s Open Doubles, Coach Jay served two years as the Head Tennis Coach at Lakewood High School, where he led the boys team to a District Championship before pursuing coaching at the Collegiate level, including head coaching stints at Division II schools Davis & Elkins (W Va), West Virginia Wesleyan, and Francis Marion (SC). WHO DOES JAY COACH Switching full-time into pickleball last year after starting to play in 2022, Coach Jay enjoys coaching all ages and levels, but specializes in intermediate and advanced adults, performance juniors, and singles play — offering both private and group instruction. Pickleball Highlights Jay actively plays in PPA Professional Events, holding World Rankings in Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, and is the Head Coach of the O-Town Bangers of the All Florida Pro League. 3x National Qualifier in Men’s Singles 2025 UPA Florida State Amateur Singles Champion 2024, 2025 Golden Ticket National Qualifier 2024 Macon National Qualifier 6.0+ Singles Runner-Up 2024 West Virginia Indoor Men's Doubles Champion
Fun Fact: Jay has a cat named Meathead. He collects Baseball Cards, is a huge fan of the Bucs and Rays and has coached Tennis in the NCAA Tournament and won a Conference Coach of the Year Award.
